My artistic talent is a gift from God, and it’s my purpose to nurture it—capturing snapshots in time and telling stories through my paintings.
"I'm first drawn in by the light on faces, then captivated by the quiet expressions and fleeting moments that further the narrative. Watercolor allows me to express the emotions of that moment—and, I hope, stir a memory or feeling in the viewer."
Jeanette Dean-DeJesus
Beginning in 2008, I have earnestly pursued a greater understanding of design, composition, value and painting, particularly in watercolor. Watercolor helps me express my feelings about a subject and hopefully arouse a memory or reaction from the viewer.
I especially enjoy painting children as they experience the wonders of life and God’s creations. We have six grandchildren and they are my muses. I know their personalities and what they are excited about. It is a joy to be able to express my creativity while capturing a snapshot of their lives in watercolor.
